Tribute to Mr Davies of Deri

1932

Cardiff Lodge meeting notes for a committee meeting of June 19^th 1932 record the following tribute to Mr William Davies who had been a member of the Theosophical Society since 1894 and a founder member of Cardiff Lodge in 1911. An active member in the vanguard of Welsh Theosophy.

A letter was read by Miss A Banks informing the Society of the passing of one of its members Mr William Davies (known as Mr Davies of Deri) on May 26^th at Llanigon at the age of 70. into the “Greater Light”.

Mr Davies joined the Society on White Lotus Day in 1894, and has been a fellow longer than anyone else in Wales. He continued to be an active member during the whole of this time. A Founding Member of the first Lodge in Wales in Cardiff, although living some distance away, he was always eager and ready to help in every possible way.

This tribute was also published in the TS in Wales Annual Report for 1932.
