As a Labour councilor in Penarth, Peter Freeman has the opportunity to meet the first Labour Prime Minister Ramsey MacDonald on his visit to Cardiff in 1924.

At the time this photograph was taken, Ramsey MacDonald was Prime Minister of a minority Labour Government which was in power from January 22nd to October 29th 1924

Peter Freeman later became Labour MP for Brecon & Radnor 1929 – 31. The period of Ramsey MacDonald’s second Labour Government.
